Wolves welcome Norwich to Molineux on Sunday with Nuno Espirito Santo’s men searching to get into the top six in order to access European football for another season.

Wolves played Leicester last time out and held onto a 0-0 draw against the Foxes. They were unable to capitalise on having an extra man on the pitch when Hamza Chodbury was sent off. They also played a Europa League Round of 32 first leg game against RCD Espanyol which they won 4-0. A Diogo Jota hat-trick and a Ruben Neves goal saw them breeze past their opposition on the night.

Norwich gave Liverpool a good run for their money when they played them last weekend. Sadio Mane’s goal seperated the two sides as the Canaries showed a good account of what they are capable of.

Team news

Wolves head coach Nuno Espirito Santo is likely to have an unchanged squad.

Ruben Vinagre is expected to remain sidelined, but there could be changes to the side that beat Espanyol in the Europa League on Thursday.

Norwich defender Sam Byram will miss the rest of the season following hamstring surgery.

Christoph Zimmermann is a doubt with a hamstring injury of his own, while winger Onel Hernandez’s knee problem will be assessed.

Wolves manager Nuno Espirito Santo praised the “beautiful goals” his team scored as Wolves put four past RCD Espanyol in the Europa League on Thursday night.

“It was a good performance. First-half not so good, we didn’t create a lot of problems in possession and didn’t recover in the right areas. We adjusted second-half, beautiful goals, it was a good evening.

“I think we competed well. Of course, the result is the consequences of what we did. We created many chances in the second-half and we were clinical in those moments. This is what we want, sometimes you create more and don’t score.

“For me, important is the oranisation and clean sheet. Defensively we did really well, everything starts from there, then let the players develop their talent up the pitch. Happy with the consistency of the team.”

Norwich City manager Daniel Farke says his side are capable of picking up results regardless of the opposition ahead of the Canaries’ trip to Wolverhampton Wanderers on Sunday.

“Wolves are allowed to play in Europe and that says a lot,” he told the media at his pre-match press conference. “They have a really good role in the Premier League. They kept clean sheets in the last three games, so they have top-class players.

“They have a really good structure and it’s unbelievably difficult to break them down or create chances against them. They have threats in the offense with real quality and are fighting again for Europe.

“It’s a huge task but I don’t see any easy fixtures for us. If we’re capable of being good in our topics then we have a chance wherever we go, including at Wolves.”

Head-to-head

After a run of three straight victories over Wolves, Norwich have failed to win any of the past three encounters. Norwich have won only two of their 27 league away fixtures against Wolves – both times in the second tier, in September 1995 and October 2016.
