Mansfield Town look to turn draws into wins when they face Leyton Orient on Tuesday night

In a mid-week fixture, the Stags travel to face Leyton Orient in Sky Bet League Two with Graham Coughlan’s men desperate to get a win to get away from the bottom half of the table.

The Stags were unable to see their game out on Saturday against Morecambe at the Globe Arena. Joe Riley’s goal put the Stags infront after the hour mark.  With Alex Kenyon’s 85th minute equaliser denying the amber and blues of three points and a clean sheet.

Leyton Orient were also unlucky not to get three points against their opponents Macclesfield Town. James Brophy gave Orient the break through in the 75th minute with Jacob Blyth equalising for the visitors in the 91st minute.

Team news

Mansfield will be without the injury Alex MacDonald as he makes progress to recover from a hamstring injury. Kellan Gordon and Hayden White will alos be sidelined due to injury.

For Orient, Dan Happe was forced off the pitch at half time against the Silkmen with sickness and will be assessed ahead of Tuesday’s game.

Sam Ling edges closer to his return, but remains out of action along with Louis Dennis, Jamie Turley and Jobi McAnuff.

Leyton Orient boss Ross Embleton says it was illness as well as injury that forced Dan Happe off at half-time in Saturday’s draw against Macclesfield Town.

“We got him in at half-time and he just couldn’t go back out again. He looked like a ghost and it would have been foolish of us to try and push him any further.

Stags manager Graham Coughlan offered his thoughts on Saturday’s 1-1 with Morecambe, while also speaking about Tuesday’s game against Leyton Orient, first team injuries and his approach to the rest of the season.

“It’s a game we should have won [against Morecambe]and a game we should have got a clean sheet in,” the manager told iFollow Stags. “But where have we heard that before? For fear of repeating myself, I asked Joe [Dunne, assistant manager] to deal with the media on Saturday.

“I was really annoyed and frustrated that we didn’t see the game through as we were in total control of it.

“There was a little lack of concentration at the back which has cost us the game. Those are the small little details of frustration that we’re going through.”

Head-to-head

The last meeting between the two sides was a memorable affair as the O’s came back from two goals down to snatch all three points at Field Mill.

Two penalties from Danny Rose had given the Stags a comfortable lead at the break, before Conor Wilkinson and Lee Angol both struck their first league goals for the club to level things up going into the final stages.

It looked like it would stay that way as the clock ticked into the sixth minute of additional time but Angol had other ideas, after breaking away down the left he fired the ball across goal into the path of Jordan Maguire-Drew who bundled home a dramatic winner and sent the 326 fans that made the mid-week trip to Nottinghamshire into bedlam.
