Spurs drew to Watford at Vicarage Road on Sunday meanwhile Norwich picked up their first win since November by beating Bournemouth 1-0 last time out.
The win provided a much-needed boost for Daniel Farke’s men as they attempt to hang onto their Premier League status in their first new back in the top-flight.
These two met on December 28th at Carrow Road when a late Harry Kane penalty rescued a point for Tottenham. Harry Kane is now out until April with Spurs understandably short for goals, the North Londoners one of only three clubs in England’s top four divisions yet to score a goal in 2020.
Jose Mourinho announced that Tanguy Ndombele has returned to training, the Portuguese coach hopeful the Frenchman can get a run of games in the side.
Ben Davies (ankle), Harry Kane (hamstring) and Moussa Sissoko (knee) all remain sidelined for the Lilywhites as they continue their rehabilitation.
Norwich’s Argentinian playmaker Emiliano Buendia (quadricep) has been ruled out. Mario Vrancic (shin) and Ralf Fahrmann (knee) are also out for Daniel Farke’s side with Ben Godfrey suspended after his red card against Bournemouth.
“We’re very optimistic. We know them well, we played them a month ago. We’re playing well, we’re not getting the results we should & that we deserve. We’re not scoring the goals we could.
“We believe that better days are coming. We’re positive. Three days where after the first day of recovering we still managed to two days to work tactically and improve step by step. It’s today two months since my arrival and we’re positive.”
“We tried everything we could in the last few days to get him ready and also he was on the training pitch today (Tuesday) to try it but there was no chance to sprint or do anything,” said Farke. “I am pretty sure he will be probably out for the Burnley FA Cup game but the next league game we hope he is available. Our doctors and physios have to work pretty hard now.
“He is an important player for us and I would prefer to have him available.”
