David Moyes’ West Ham host Carlo Ancelotti’s Everton in a hotly anticipated battle between two returning Premier League managers.

Everton were able to get a victory last time out in the Premier League. Richarlison’s goal in the 38th minute was enough to secure the Toffees three points against Brighton.

West Ham were unable to get a good result against Sheffield United with the magnificent Oli McBurnie able to score a goal which secured the Blades the three points.

Team news

West Ham United goalkeeper Lukasz Fabianski is facing several weeks out following a recurrence of the hip injury that previously sidelined him for three months.

New signing Darren Randolph is set to deputise in goal but Felipe Anderson, Michail Antonio and Arthur Masuaku are doubts.

Everton forward Richarlison twisted his knee in training and will miss his first match of the season.

Gylfi Sigurdsson is also injured but Yerry Mina is available.

Long-term absentees Andre Gomes and Jean-Philippe Gbamin have returned to training.

West Ham manager David Moyes spoke to the media as he looked ahead to Saturday’s Premier League match at home to his former side, Everton.

“[This week] I think the players have been really positive and I think the way they’ve gone about their work has been really good.

“The game against Sheffield United could have easily been a draw with a goal from us, or maybe us not giving away a goal, one way or the other, but I don’t think we came away from the game feeling we were badly beaten in any way.

“I think we’ve got a lot of confidence we took from our home game where we beat Bournemouth 4-0, so we want to take that into the next game. We have to try and find that form, that level again, and hopefully we can do that.

Everton boss Carlo Ancelotti has revealed Richarlison will miss Saturday’s clash at West Ham United after sustaining a minor knee injury.

“We will be without Richarlison for this game,” said Ancelotti, who was speaking at his pre-match press conference at USM Finch Farm.

“He had a little problem yesterday on his knee [Thursday] in training. He had a little twist but nothing special – a minor problem.”

Head-to-head

West Ham have won just three of the past 23 Premier League meetings, keeping one clean sheet (D6, L14). Everton have earned seven victories in the last 11 trips to West Ham, with their only defeat coming on the final day of the 2017-18 season. West Ham’s 63 top-flight defeats in this fixture is a club record against one opponent.
