Pompey hoping to put their away day blues to bed when they visit bottom of the table Bolton Wanderers

Portsmouth could see themselves in the top six for the first time this season if they are to leave the Macron with all three points.

But the Blues have struggled on the road this campaign, picking up just nine points from a possible 33.

Bolton come into this one off the back of a thumping, losing 5-1 to Lincoln midweek. With just one win in their last 10 games in all competitions, Wanderers will be looking to take advantage of Pompey’s horrendous away record.

Team News

Portsmouth striker John Marquis will be hoping to continue his goal scoring form after scoring three in as many appearances.

That is of course if manager Kenny Jackett decides to play Marquis. The former Doncaster Rovers talisman has found himself either playing in the number 10 role or among the substitutes, after joining in the summer.

Transfer interest from the Championship has spilt over in the past week regarding in-form winger Ronan Curtis. With 11 goals already to his name this campaign, Curtis doesn’t look like slowing down.

The Irishman has just six months left on his current deal, although the club do have the option of a further year.

Speaking to ‘The Portsmouth News’, manager Kenny Jackett doesn’t see the Republic of Ireland international going anywhere else, at least until the summer:

“We haven’t had any enquiries or bids and long may that continue.

“Similarly, if we were to sell our top scorer and try to replace him it would be very difficult.

“It’s getting on to months now that’s he produced and got back to what we consider to be his best.

“He’s just needed to knuckle down and concentrate like all us. It’s what we’ve needed to do as a club and a group. He was no different.”

For Bolton, following his arrival on Friday, left sided defender Brandon Fleming is available for selection tomorrow after completing his loan move from Hull.

Jason Lowe has served his three match suspension and is available for team selection once again.

Wanderers manager Keith Hill feels the return of Jason Lowe will help the side resolve their woes:

“It’s always a boost when you are adding players of his quality to your squad. “He has served his suspension and made himself available which I’m really pleased about.”
