Bottom of the league Norwich take on Mourinho’s men at Carrow Road

Norwich will look to cause an upset against Spurs when they play each other at Carrow Road with the hosts looking desperately to string good performances together.

Norwich who sit in 20th position are currently seven points away from safety and need a good result against Spurs in order to see their Premier League dream stay alive. Spurs sit sixth in the Premier League only three points away from the top four.

Norwich head coach Daniel Farke may make changes as he tries to address a run of six matches without a victory.

He remains without striker Josip Drmic and long-term injury victims Ben Godfrey and Timm Klose.

Tottenham are without the suspended trio of Son Heung-min, Moussa Sissoko and Harry Winks.

Head coach Jose Mourinho said Tanguy Ndombele was not “feeling in condition to play” against Brighton and it is unclear whether he will be available.

Norwich City manager Daniel Farke said fate was not on his team’s side, after a host of good chances went begging for the Canaries in Thursday’s 1-0 defeat to Aston Villa.

“We have to stay self-critical, but I can’t ask the lads to do much more,” he added. “We dominated the game from the first to the last second and were by far the better side, creating an unbelievable amount of chances. We didn’t allow them to have many. We had more possession and shots and won duels. We were unbelievably unlucky.

“The only situation we weren’t switched on defensively was after a clear and obvious mistake from the referee,” Farke said. “I don’t want to use it as an excuse, but small details make a difference and the lads are human beings, so they were frustrated with the decision.

“They don’t deserve to be in the dressing room with no points.”

Spurs boss Jose Mourinho spoke to the press about a “recovery process” and about closing the gap to the top four.

“During the recovery process you aren’t going to be winning all the time and the other teams won’t keep on losing.

“It is not easy to recover the points that the club was behind the others when I came in, but we will push and try to close the gap.”
