Thomas Frank praises Bees victory over Fulham

Brentford manager Thomas Frank hailed his side’s 1-0 victory over West London rivals Fulham as one of the best results during his time as the Bees manager.

The West London side defeated local rivals Fulham 1-0 thanks to Bryan Mbuemo’s first-half strike.

Frank said: “yes, definitely one of the best (results). We were playing against a relegated premier league side, we know they’re going for a big push.

“We all know it’s difficult to come down from the premier league but they still have a really good squad and some really top players.

“Against a top side who played some of the best football in the division earlier in the season, we outplayed them and outran them. I would love to have won three or four nil but we will take the three points.”

The scoreline didn’t tell the full story. The Bees were all over Fulham from the 15th minute onward. They hit the post and bar twice in both halves and contained a Fulham side with the league’s top scorer Aleksandar Mitrovoic comfortably.

The result leaves Brentford in fourth place but Frank refused to get carried away: “There’s a three or four points gap between third and eleventh, we”ll celebrate tonight and get back to the hard work on Monday”, he said.

The Bees travel to top of the table West Brom on Saturday and will continue to keep a superb run of seven wins in ten games going.
