With the growth of the women’s game continuing, Real Madrid made their first move for their women’s side with their first official signing, Kosovare Asllani

Real Madrid signed their very first ‘Galatica’ today as Swedish striker, Kosovare Asllani became the first signing for Real Madrid’s women’s team.

The Swede announced the move on her Twitter account earlier today, following much speculation that she would be the first signing for the new Madrid project. The forward took part in this summers FIFA Women’s World Cup, scoring 3 goals as Sweden finished third in the tournament.

Asllani is certainly experienced too, having played for both PSG’s and Manchester City’s women’s sides during her career so far.

Considered to be one of the best talents in the game, the forward scored a total of 39 goals in 59 games for the Paris based side, following her stint at Paris and then Manchester City, she returned to her maiden club Linköping, where she has scored 29 goals in 64 appearances across her two stints.

Real acquired CD Tacon last month, however, the club will not change their name until the 2020/21 season. Although, the side will play all of their games at Real Madrid’s training ground as the side gained promotion this season to the Spanish top-flight, the Primera Division.
