Tottenham have confirmed that Jack Clarke and Tanguy Ndombele have joined the club from Leeds United and Lyon.

Clarke becomes Tottenham’s first transfer since January 2018 when Lucas Moura arrived on deadline day.

The 18-year-old had a breakthrough season at Elland Road last campaign starting five times and making a further 20 appearances off the bench, scoring and assisting twice.

The two clubs have agreed for Clarke to be loaned back to the Whites for the upcoming season perhaps due to the trust Mauricio Pochettino places in Marcelo Bielsa’s methods.

Tottenham announced his arrival through their social media channels this morning:

He follows the likes of Danny Rose, Aaron Lennon, Paul Robinson and Robbie Keane as players to have made the switch from Leeds to north London.

Leeds’ Young Player of the Year has signed a deal until 2023 at Spurs and was clearly thrilled to secure a move to the Champions League finalists.

“I’m delighted to sign for such a top club, it’s still bizarre, I’m still getting my head round it at the moment, but it was an opportunity I couldn’t turn down, it’s one of the biggest clubs in England, if not the world at the moment.”

Tanguy Ndombele arrives in north London as a highly-coveted signing with the Frenchman linked with Real Madrid, Juventus and Manchester United before settling on a move to N17.

The former Lyon midfielder, capped six times for France, becomes Tottenham’s all-time record signing surpassing the fee Tottenham paid Ajax for defender Davinson Sanchez in 2017.

Ndombele started his youth career at Guingamp but after being released from the French club, the 22-year-old was signed by Amiens and earned a loan move to Lyon with a view to buy after impressing.

Lyon were quick to activate that permanent option this summer before offloading the midfielder to Tottenham in a deal that represents OL’s largest ever sale.

The fee believed to be around £60 million displays a statement of intent for the Lilywhites as Daniel Levy secures what is believed to be Pochettino’s top target in Ndombele.
