However, on Friday Juventus issued a brief statement, confirming the departure of the Italian:

“Massimiliano Allegri will not be on the Juventus bench for the 2019/2020 season.

The coach and the President, Andrea Agnelli, will meet the media together at tomorrow’s press conference – Saturday 18 May, at 2pm (local time) in the press conference hall of Allianz Stadium.”

Allegri had been linked to a number of clubs in the Premier League with the likes of Chelsea and Arsenal once reportedly admirers.

The departing boss will remain in the dugout for Juventus’ final two Serie A matches of the season, having already secured the title.
