Mark Warburton has been named as QPR’s new manager, on a two-year deal.
Warburton succeeds former England boss Steve McClaren who was sacked by the club on April 1 following a run of one win in 15 league games.
QPR’s West London rivals Brentford were Warburton’s first club in his managerial career before he joined Scottish side Rangers, leading them to the Scottish Championship title in his first season at the helm.
On being appointed QPR manager, Warburton said:
“When I spoke to QPR they were very clear. They have a solid plan and know what they want. They have a long-term outlook and that appealed to me immediately.
“I am excited about the challenge that lies ahead.”
Warburton last managed fellow Championship side, Nottingham Forest, before he was sacked in December 2017.
