Tottenham Hotspur Ladies to change name to Women next season

From next season, Tottenham Hotspur Ladies will be known as Tottenham Hotspur Women.

The Lilywhites will secure second spot in the Women’s Championship and promotion to the Women’s Super League with a win over Aston Villa on Wednesday.

Should they meet the relevant criteria to join the top tier of women’s football, 11 of the 12 WSL sides next season will have ‘Women’ in their name. Everton Ladies are the only exception.

Currently, in the Championship, five teams have ‘Women’ in their name. Four teams opted for ‘Ladies’ with London Bees and Millwall Lionesses being the only anomalies.
