England Women announce squad for friendly matches

England Women have announced their squad for next month’s friendlies against Canada and Spain.

Millie Bright of Chelsea and Manchester City’s Jill Scott have made it back into the squad.

Bright, Scott and Reading midfielder Jade Moore were absent from the SheBelieves Cup triumph due to injury.

Manchester City goalkeeper Ellie Roebuck has also been added to the 25-player squad who will face Canada in Manchester on April 5th and then Spain four days later in Swindon.

Lyon midfielder Izzy Christiansen is out of action after sustaining an ankle injury in England’s 3-0 win over Japan earlier this month in the SheBelieves Cup.

“As ever, picking the squad was really tough due to the strength and depth of talent in our ranks,” Neville told the FA’s official website.

“We have four matches before flying out to France and I want to emphasise that the door is not shut to any player with ambitions of making the World Cup squad.

“We’re looking forward to playing in front of our fans in different parts of the country once again, our support is brilliant. The fans have backed us and hopefully we can put on a good show.”

The matches are part of the Lionesses ‘Road to France Series’ which will serve as preparation for the World Cup this summer.
