Nacho speaks on ‘difficult’ Solari relationship

Real Madrid centre-back Nacho has described the relationship between the players and manager Santiago Solari as ‘difficult’.

Madrid came from behind to defeat Valladolid on Friday 4-1. However, speaking during his post-match interview Nacho revealed some of the relationship with the Madrid manager.

He said:

“The relationship with the boss is difficult as things are not going well. But we are with him to the death.”

The defender acknowledged that the La Liga giants had some good fortune when VAR ruled out two goals for the hosts which would have seen them go 3-0 up against Madrid.

“The first half we were absent minded and untidy,” said Nacho.

“We’ve been lucky with the VAR. We reacted well and the second half was ours.”

Solari is facing increased pressure after a poor run of results have all but ended Madrid’s season in March.

Los Blancos were beaten 4-1 on aggregate against Barcelona in the Copa del Rey semi-final before being humiliated at home by Ajax 4-1, resulting in a 5-3 aggregate defeat in the last 16 of the Champions League.
