Bethany England signs new deal with Chelsea Women

Bethany England will remain at Chelsea Women for a further two years after signing a new contract.

England is the club’s top scorer with 17 goals in all competitions, including her first Chelsea hat-trick in the 6-0 win over Bristol City last week.

After joining Chelsea in 2016, England was used sparingly but her qualities were clear to see. She went on loan to Liverpool for the 2017/18 WSL season and finished as the joint-third highest scorer in the top flight.

Back in the Chelsea side this season, England is now one of the first names on the team sheet due to her tenacity, awareness and goal-scoring prowess.

“I’m just delighted to finally sign the two-year-deal,” she told Chelsea’s website.

“I’ve got into the team quite regularly now which is important and I’ve also been scoring goals so it’s been really good.”

If she keeps up her current form, an England call up is surely on the cards for England.
