Former Manchester United winger Nani joins Orlando City

Former Manchester United winger Nani has joined MLS side Orlando City on a free transfer.

The Portuguese winger joins after logging seven goals and four assists in 18 appearances with Sporting CP this season.

The Florida based franchise announced the signing on Twitter and their club website. SC EVP of Soccer Operations Luiz Muzzi told the club site:

“This is an exciting day for our organisation. Nani brings tremendous experience to our roster.

“He’s a dynamic winger with quality abilities to move and cross the ball, impact games and lead the offensive play.”

The 32-year-old began his career with Sporting CP before moving to Man United where he made 147 Premier League appearances and scoring 25 goals.

He also won 12 trophies during his time at Old Trafford including: four Premier League titles, two League Cup victories, a Champions League, a FIFA Club World Cup and four Community Shield triumphs.

After leaving United Nani had stints with Fenerbahce, Valencia and Lazio on loan.
