Chelsea and Malmo face UEFA disciplinary action

Chelsea and Malmo face disciplinary action for their fans behaviour during last night’s Europa League clash.

It is the second time the club have faced action in the Europa League after UEFA opened disciplinary proceedings against the Blues two months ago due to alleged Anti-Semitic chants being heard from the away fans during their match against MOL Vidi.

Both Chelsea and Malmo have been charged due to their fans throwing objects during the first half of last nights match. Chelsea have also been charged for supporters invading the pitch.

One supporter reached Chelsea star Eden Hazard. Thankfully the fan simply wanted to hug the Belgian, and was escorted away from the pitch holding the number 10 shirt.

On top of the charge for throwing objects, Malmo also face a charge for setting off fireworks as the players entered the pitch at the start of the match.

The open cases against Chelsea and Malmo will be dealt with by the UEFA Control, Ethics and Disciplinary Body on the 28th March.

Chelsea bounced back from their highly embarrassing 6-0 defeat to Manchester City by beating Swedish top flight side Malmo 2-1 away from home.
