Martial signs new deal at Manchester United

Anthony Martial has signed a new contract at Manchester United which will keep him at the club until 2024.

The deal features an option to extend it for a further year.

The 23-year-old had been on the fringes of the team under former manager Jose Mourinho, but under interim boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has found his form, along with other key United players.

Speaking with the club website, Martial said:

“I am loving my time at this club. From the day I joned I have been made to feel part of the United family and I have been incredibly humbled and overwhelmed by the warmth and love of our fans, who contiue to amaze me with their support.

“I would like to thank Ole and his coaching staff for their belief in me and for helping me take my game to the next level.”

Solskjaer heaped praised on the French forward:

“Anthony is one of those naturally gifted players that any coach would love to work with,” Said the current United manager,

“For a young man, he has a good footballing brain which, when coupled with his exceptional talent, makes for a player with an exciting future ahead of him.”

Martial has scored 46 goals in 162 appearances for United since joining the club from Monaco in 2015.

He has eight goals and one assist in 18 Premier League games this season.
