FIFA have confirmed the latest women’s rankings before the Women’s World Cup draw takes place tomorrow.

USA have cemented their place as the leaders of the rankings after an unbeaten year. Hosts France have moved up one place to 3rd and England have subsequently dropped down one place to 4th.

The Netherlands have made the most significant progress in the top 20 as they are now 7th, three places better than before. Scotland have moved down one place to 20th.

Jamaica have been rewarded for qualifying for their first ever World Cup as they climbed 11 places to 53rd. Panama are now 54th, up 12 places. For both teams, this is their highest-ever positions in the FIFA rankings.

The draw pots for the Women’s World Cup draw have been confirmed by the rankings.

Pot 1 consists of hosts France, USA, Germany, England, Canada and Australia. Netherlands, Japan, Sweden, Brazil, Spain and Norway are the teams in Pot 2.

In Pot 3 are Korea Republic, China PR, Italy, New Zealand, Scotland and Thailand. Pot 4, the final pot, includes Argentina, Chile, Nigeria, Cameroon, South Africa and Jamaica.

The Women’s World Cup draw takes place on December 8 at 17:00 GMT.
