Solihull v Arsenal and south coast derby highlights of FA Cup 3rd Round – both Manchester clubs at home

Solihull Moors have the opportunity of a glamour tie at home to Arsenal should they dispose of Blackpool in a replay on December 11.

The sides drew 0-0 in the West Midlands on November 30. The other non league side who will face a giant are Woking FC  who host Watford, 84 league places above them.

Other highlights in a generally unexciting draw include an all EPL south coast derby between Brighton and Bournemouth at Dean Court. Wolves v Liverpool is the only other all EPL tie as the big sides generally avoided each other.

Manchester City host Rotherham and neighbours United host Reading. Chelsea were also given a home draw against Nottingham Forest while Tottenham head towards Merseyisde to play either Tranmere or Southport.

The draw is also short on derbies, although Middlesbrough v Bradford is a Yorkshire derby of sorts, should the latter overcome Peterborough.

The biggest geographical note may be the number of Roses derbies, that is matches between sides from Yorkshire and Lancashire.

Other than Man City (L) v Rotherham (Y), there is Burnley (L) v Barnsley (Y) and Preston (L)  v Doncaster (Y).  Two other south Yorkshire sides, Sheffield Wednesday and Sheffield United drew home ties. Seven London sides are at home and nine EPL sides are at home to lower league opposition.

Whoever wins out of the all Welsh 2nd round tie between Wrexham and Newport will host Leicester in one of the draw’s other intriguing ties.
