Brad Evans Postpones Honeymoon for America

Brad's US Team Mates May Have to Fill in for a While

Many patriots and heroes have made sacrifices for their respective countries. Brad Evans is now one of them. Speaking to Radio Sounders in an interview to run in this week’s episode, the Sounders FC midfielder revealed that he was forced to postpone something very special to attend the USA training camp in January.

“I got to give up my honeymoon. I’m getting married January 9th. The camp starts on January 4th. I get married on the 9th and Bob’s giving me a couple of days off to get married and get settled, a couple of days. Down in Southern California is where we’re getting married anyway. When he told me a couple of weeks ago, I had to cancel my honeymoon. The fiance and I have been talking about what we’re going to do, but she’s totally understanding.”

Brad also revealed that he had no idea in advance that US coach Bob Bradley envisaged him playing as a defender last season, and talked very frankly and openly about his dip in form after he returned from Gold Cup duty last season. He also gives his views on the World Cup draw.

The full interview and the program will be available for download on this URL later this week. Other highlights include a discussion about the MLS plans to market US soccer at fans rather than families. Adrian Hanauer speaks about that subject, and the team rue the darkness on the shortest day of the year.
