Manchester City made it three wins from three with an impressive 5-0 victory over Danish Champions Copenhagen in their Champions League group match at the Etihad stadium.

A spectacular light show preceded the match but the real show was on the pitch and in particular from City’s Norwegian striker Erling Haaland.

The Danish team tried their best throughout the night but like most teams this season they just did not have any answers for the City goal machine Haaland.

The Norwegian number 9 jumped on his first chance to make it 1-0 to the Sky Blues after just seven minutes. It did not take long for his second to come and City had a comfortable 2-0 lead just after the half hour mark.

Luckily for Copenhagen, Pep Guardiola decided to rest his main man for the second half. If he had stayed on the field for any longer few would have betted against him sealing his fourth successive home hat-trick in a row.

City went into the break 3-0 thanks to an own goal from Davit Khocholava shortly before half time.

It was a similar story in the second half with City extending their lead with two more goals, one coming from the spot from Riyad Mahrez while Julian Alveraz finished the scoring 15 minutes from time.

Despite the heavy defeat the Copenhagen fans continued to sing throughout the match and support their team. It will however take something special from the Danes, even with a formidable atmosphere in the Danish capital, for Copenhagen to take anything from the upcoming reverse fixture.
