With March fast approaching, Huddersfield Town are the only Championship team yet to register a win in 2021. This weekend, they face a strong Swansea City side who will be aiming to penetrate the top two.

The pressure is starting to mount on Terriers boss Carlos Corberán. After picking up only two points from their last eight league games, the Yorkshire side have subsequently fallen to 19th place.

Furthermore, with Sheffield Wednesday having played one less game and Rotherham United having played two less, Huddersfield will be ominously looking over their shoulder at the teams fighting to stay in the second tier.

Owner Phil Hodgkinson may be forced to pull the trigger if results don’t improve. Hodgkinson is no stranger to a spontaneous sacking and some feel that a fresh face is just what is required at the John Smith’s stadium.

Jan Siewert was relieved from his duties after just three league games last season. Moreover, the German’s successor Danny Cowley was dismissed at the end of that same season in a decision that shocked the Huddersfield faithful.

Current manager Corberán faces a tough test on Saturday as the Terriers face Steve Cooper’s Swansea City.

The Swans are poised for promotion; currently occupying third spot with two games in hand – a victory in both of these extra fixtures would see them secure top spot by a solitary point.

In midweek Connor Roberts headed home a late goal to give his side yet another crucial three points against Chris Hughton’s Nottingham Forest.

Saturday’s hosts started perfectly during Tuesday’s defeat at the Riverside. Isaac Mbenza opened the scoring within the first ten minutes; striking a delightful free-kick into the top corner.

The Belgian’s fifth goal of the season was soon cancelled out by a wonderful solo goal from Duncan Watmore. The 26-year-old skipped past three Town defenders before cutting inside and curling the ball beyond Ryan Schofield. Neil Warnock’s men then scored again just before the interval to secure the victory.

Huddersfield will be hoping to end their run of 11 games without keeping a clean sheet against a City side who have scored in each of their last 9 outings in all competitions.

Despite their contrasting runs of form, it was the Terriers who took the spoils when the sides last met in October. Swansea were dealt their first defeat of the campaign after Harry Toffolo and Josh Koroma struck either side of half time.
