The Women’s Super League has been full of excitement and entertainment with plenty of surprise results. The league has two new teams, Brighton & Hove Albion and West Ham who are adjusting to full-time football in the top tier.
There is currently an international break with no WSL teams in action until Saturday 17th November which offers time to reflect on the season so far. Here is Part 4 of an alphabetical review of how each team has fared up to this point.
West Ham Women
Considering it’s their first season playing professional football on a full-time basis, West Ham have impressed so far.
Their team has a good blend of youth and experience including ex Chelsea players Claire Rafferty and Gilly Flaherty. Forwards Alisha Lehmann and Leanne Kiernan are both young and hungry to succeed which bodes well for West Ham.
Losing 7-1 to Man City would have taught West Ham a lot as they continue to adapt to the top flight.
The Hammers have already shown great fighting spirit in their short time in the WSL. They came from behind to beat Everton 2-1 and when Yeovil equalised against them, they restored their lead just a minute later. This sort of resilience will serve them well as the season progresses.

Yeovil Town Ladies
It would be a huge understatement to say that Yeovil Town have had a difficult start to the season.
The Lady Glovers have lost six of their seven league games and relgation could be a likely outcome at the end of the current campaign.
Thrashings at the hands of Arsenal and Reading will have been hard to take but they were unlucky in narrow defeats against Liverpool, Bristol City, Brighton and West Ham and can take positives from those matches.
Beating Everton just before the international break was a massive confidence boost as it lifted them off the bottom of the table for the first time this season and it was also their first ever WSL victory.
