Three wins from three for Liverpool has seen the Reds involved in a fair share of drama and entertainment but the Champions remain unbeaten so far.<\/h2>\n
The Champions began their season against Championship winners, Leeds United. Having been pegged back three times by the Premier League newboys, Mohamed Salah’s 88th-minute penalty secured the Reds an emphatic 4-3 win.<\/p>\n
That was followed by a trip to Stamford Bridge to face a new look Chelsea side, many of whom have been tipping for a strong season. A Sadio Mane inspired performance, which saw the winger responsible for Andreas Christensen’s red card and getting on the scoresheet twice in the space of five minutes. A fantastic penalty save from Allison, gave Jurgen Klopp’s men their first clean sheet of the season as well as their first victory on the road.<\/p>\n
The Reds then turned their attention to the Carabao Cup where a makeshift XI, ran riot at League One side Lincoln City. They scored four first-half goals at Sincil Bank and went on to win 7-2.<\/p>\n
Four days on from that nine-goal thriller, Liverpool turn their focus back to the Premier League against Arsenal. The Gunners have become familiar opposition in recent weeks, having played them in Matchday 36 of the League back in July and in the Charity Shield last month. But the series doesn’t conclude with their game at Anfield on Monday night either, they are set to face each other in Round Four of the Carabao Cup just three days later.<\/p>\n

<\/iframe><\/div>\n<\/div>\nIt’s been a bright start to the season for Arsenal as well, they too have had a 100% start. A win at Leicester in midweek was preceded by a comfortable win at Fulham and a late win over West Ham, where the Gunners really had to dig in for the points, fending off wave after wave of attacks from the Hammers.<\/p>\nThough it may have been the greatest performance last weekend there is somewhat of a feel-good factor at the Emirates, which has mostly come down to their manager Mikel Arteta. His first nine months in charge has seen him claim two pieces of silverware in the FA Cup and Community Shield and bring smiles back to the faces of both players and supporters.<\/p>\nBoth are beginning to believe in his vision for the club going forward, which was a huge factor in why the captain and striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang signed a new three-year deal.<\/p>\nJurgen Klopp had a lot to say about his managerial counterpart in recent days, but unlike his swipe at Chelsea boss Frank Lampard over his sides’ spending habits, the German was very complimentary about the Arsenal manager:<\/p>\n<blockquote>‘I am not sure I should compare, but Arteta has showed in a short period he seems to be an exceptional football manager.”<\/p>\n‘The team he sets up now, the structure is exceptional. You can see the balance between defence and attack. Good organisation but freedom for players, uses them in right place.”<\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\nKlopp did go on to say he felt confident about his side on Monday night and you can understand why. Anfield is a fortress for Liverpool. It’s been three-and-a-half years since the Reds lost there in the Premier League, a run spanning over 60 games. On top of that, they have only dropped points at home just twice in the last two seasons.<\/p>\nWe should also mention Liverpool’s strong home record against Arsenal too. The Gunners haven’t won at Anfield since September 2012, since then they have drawn twice and lost six. In fact, seven of those matches have seen the Reds score three or more times against Arsenal, three of them saw them score five times, most recently in their League Cup tie last October. With the likes of Mane and Salah starting the season brightly, Liverpool fans will be expecting goals.<\/p>\nArsenal look a sturdier side defensively, especially with the addition of Gabriel Magalhaes, who has impressed in his first two starts for the club, following his \u00a327 million move from Lille. He put in a man of the match performance on his debut at Craven Cottage and was equally as solid last weekend.<\/p>\nLiverpool will also be wary of Arsenal’s attacking threat too. Arteta’s men were able to exploit their defensive errors in their 2-1 victory back in July, and with them looking vulnerable at the back against Leeds on the opening weekend, the Gunners will be seeking to cause problems on the counter.
