Sergi Solans Scores Twice as Real Salt Lake Defeats New England Revolution 3-0

In the 46th minute, Real Salt Lake midfielder Morgan Guilavogui was issued a yellow card for fouling midfielder Carles Gil.

Sergi Solans had yet another amazing opportunity to double Real Salt Lake’s lead in the 48th minute when he broke through on goal, got by Mamadou Fofana and attempted to place a shot into the bottom left corner that was met with a spectacular save by goalkeeper Matt Turner.

Luca Langoni had a chance to pull New England closer in the 51st minute, but his right-footed effort was blocked and cleared before it could reach goal.

Less than a minute later, Wilson Harris had a golden chance to pull a goal back for New England, meeting a pass from Carles Gil with a first-time shot that struck the outside of the left post.

In the 56th minute, Revolution head coach Marko Mitrović made his first two substitutions, bringing on Griffin Yow and Cody Baker for Wilson Harris and Luca Langoni, respectively.

Less than a minute later, Carles Gil looked to cut into Real Salt Lake’s lead, but his left-footed shot sailed high and wide.

In the 60th minute, Revolution defender Joshua Wynder was issued a yellow card for a harsh foul on Sergi Solans.

Entering the 62nd minute, Real Salt Lake doubled its lead.

Midfielder Noel Caliskan played Sergi Solans into the box, where the forward held off Joshua Wynder and slotted a shot into the bottom-right corner to double Real Salt Lake’s lead.

Two minutes later, Joshua Wynder had a massive chance to pull one back for New England when his headed effort from a corner kick was met with a diving stop by goalkeeper Rafael Cabral.

In the 68th minute, Revolution head coach Marko Mitrović made his third change of the match by replacing Joshua Wynder with Javaun Mussenden. This is Mussenden’s MLS debut.

Real Salt Lake head coach Pablo Mastroeni made his first substitution in the 74th minute, bringing on Colin Guske for Aiden Hezarkhani.

Less than a minute later, Real Salt Lake goalkeeper Rafael Cabral was issued a yellow card for time wasting.

Jackson Yueill nearly pulled a goal back for New England in the 76th minute, but Rafael Cabral dove to deny his left-footed effort.
