Santiago Suarez loaned to San Antonio FC for 2026 USL Championship campaign

FOXBOROUGH, MA– The New England Revolution have loaned defender Santiago Suarez to San Antonio FC for the 2026 USL Championship season.

Santiago “Tiago” Suarez is a 20-year-old, 6’5, 179lb defender from Rocklin, California.

Tiago was signed to a multi-year contract with New England in November of 2022 after spending 2-years with Sacramento Republic FC academy (2021-22). In his deal, Santiago would compete in the 2023 season for the New England Revolution II, prior to elevating to the first team on a Homegrown Player deal in 2024. He spent the entire 2024 season on New England Revolution II. During the 2025 campaign, Suarez was also loaned to USL Championship side Birmingham Legion FC (2025).

In total career numbers, the defender has made 81 career appearances (5,932 minutes) at center back and right back where he has registered 1 goal, 0 assists with 17 yellow cards and 3 red cards.

He is eligible to represent the United States & Uruguay at the International level.

On January 23rd, 2026, the New England Revolution announced that Suarez had departed preseason team camp in Florida to join San Antonio FC.

Suarez joins a San Antonio FC side that finished in 6th place of the USL Championship Western Conference & fell in the Conference Quarterfinals.

For San Antonio, head coach Carlos Llamosa will look to continue to add to the squad ahead of the 2026 USL Championship campaign.
