FOXBOROUGH, MA– New England Revolution midfielder Carles Gil has made the MLS Team of the Matchday 21 following Saturday night’s 3-3 draw versus Colorado Rapids

This is Carles Gil’s sixth appearance in MLS Team of the Week this season. He previously featured in Matchday 6, Matchday 8, Matchday 10, Matchday 11, & Matchday 12.

Carles Gil obtained a position in the MLS Team of the Matchday 21 for his measurable performance on Saturday afternoon. Gil, who played 90 minutes finished the match with an 9.0 rating according to Fotmob. Offensively, Carles had 1 goal on 3 shot attempts (75% shot accuracy). Gil had 106 touches and 16 passes into the final third. The midfielder went 59/68 (86%) on accurate passes throughout the match with 9/9 accuracy on long balls (100%) and 4/19 (21%) on accurate crosses. He went 5/7 (71%) on successful dribbles and was dispossessed 1 time during the match with 4 chances created. He also took 9 corners during the match. Gil defensively went 9/13 (69%) on tackles won & had zero aerial duels. He had 1 tackle & 1 recovery.  He was fouled 4 times and committed 0 fouls during the match.

Caleb Porter and New England Revolution (6-6-6, 24 pts.) are on the road to face off against Western Conference side Portland Timbers (8-6-4, 28 pts). The match is set to kickoff at Providence Park on Saturday, July 5th at 10:30 p.m. ET on MLS Season Pass on the Apple TV app.
