Newcastle Knights sign up Super League duo for 2024

Newcastle Knights have added to their English contingent with the signings of Will Pryce and Kai Pearce-Paul on two year contracts.

The pair will be joining the Knights in 2024 after the conclusion of the upcoming Super League season.

They will be joining fellow Englishmen Dom Young at the McDonald Jones Stadium who had a breakout 2022 season, scoring 14 tries in 20 appearances for the Knights before scoring nine tries during England’s unsuccessful world cup campaign.

Will Pryce, the son of Great Britain international Leon Pryce, played his amateur rugby at Siddal before progressing through the Huddersfield Giants academy to the first team. The fullback or halfback has made 28 appearances for the Giants across two seasons as well as making his international debut for the England Knights in 2022.

Second row or centre Kai Pearce-Paul had a less traditional route into the game. Born in London, he was at the London Broncos academy before being signed by Wigan Warriors in 2019. He made his debut against St Helens in 2020 and has since played 38 times for the Warriors.

Pearce-Paul also featured at this year’s world cup where he scored a try on his debut against Greece in a 94-4 victory.

The Knights Director of Football Peter Parr was delighted that the club were able to complete the signings of the two prospects.

He said: “These are important signings for the Knights. We are very excited to be able to attract the brightest young talents from Super League to join our club.”

The duo aren’t the only English signings at the club. Former Leeds Rhinos, Toronto Wolfpack and Featherstone Rovers coach Brian Mcdermott has been appointed as an assistant to Adam O’Brien in a new-look coaching team.

The grand final and Challenge Cup final winner will be hoping to help Newcastle improve on their 14th place finish last season.
