Leeds look to make it three league wins on the bounce as they welcome Everton

Marcelo Bielsa’s men will be hoping to do the double over the Toffees for the first time since 1990.

The Whites were 1-0 winners at Goodison Park earlier in the season, but come into this game four points behind their opponents having played a game more.

The visitors will hope to see a reaction after their 2-0 defeat to strugglers Newcastle on the weekend. A second-half double from Callum Wilson ensured the Magpies victory. However, the Toffees remain only six points away from the top four with two games in hand.

On the back of six successive Premier League wins away from home this season, Leeds moved into 12th in the Premier League table, following their win against high-flying Leicester City. The Whites came from behind to beat the Foxes 3-1 at the King Power Stadium.

Patrick Bamford ended his goal drought of five games in all competitions, scoring two on the weekend. The 27-year-old is Leeds’s top goalscorer this season and joint third in the Premier League tally. He has contributed to 15 goals in 20 Premier League appearances, scoring 11 and assisting four.

Leeds will have to watch out for the threat of James Rodriguez, who has four goals and three assists to his name since joining in the summer. Dominic Calvert-Lewin will also hope to end his drought of seven league games without a goal.

The Blues have looked impressive in their away form, unbeaten since that defeat to the Yorkshire side earlier in the season and will look to capitalise on a poor Leeds home run, winning just two of their last eight games this season.

Team News

Leeds will be without forward Rodrigo who suffered a muscle injury during the win against Leicester City, whilst Patrick Bamford and Raphinha are both doubts having picked up knocks on the weekend.

Diego Llorente, Robin Koch, Gaetano Berardi and Adam Forshaw all remain unavailable for the visit to the Goodison.

Jordan Pickford will miss the match due to a rib injury. Everton manager Carlo Ancelotti has confirmed the Englishman’s absence means Robin Olsen will start the fixture.

Fabian Delph will be back in the squad having not played since December. However, Allan and Jean-Phillipe Gbamin are out.

The Blues confirmed the signing of Joshua King from Bournemouth late on deadline day, but the striker is not expected to be in the squad with the move not being finalised in time for him to be involved.
