Claude Puel sacked by Leicester City

Claude Puel has been sacked by Leicester City after 16 months in charge of the Premier League side.

Puel’s final game would prove to be a disaster as his side lost 4-1 to relegation battlers Crystal Palace.

The 57-year-old departs with having only won 25 of his 67 matches in charge, ending up with a 37% win ratio.

The latest defeat sees the Foxes placed 12th in the league.

The former Southampton boss guided Leicester to a ninth-place finish last campaign.

However, a recent run of three wins in their last 15 games in all competitions was cause enough to relieve the former Monaco manager of his duties.

His sacking means that the side are looking for their fourth permanent manager in two years. Craig Shakespeare, Claudio Ranieri have both been sacked during that period.

Ranieri won the Premier League title back in 2015-2016 season but the following year failed to address the clubs battle against relegation.

Leicester’s next three games include hosting Brighton & Hove Albion, traveling to Watford and also welcoming Fulham and former manager Ranieri back the King Power Stadium.
