Following his historic penalty kick which won the West London Blues the biggest prize in club football, the club refused him a two year deal and he will be leaving this summer.

He is now set to wind down his career away from London with the People’s Republic of China emerging as a hot favourite.

Former Chelsea teammate Nicolas Anelka is at the Shanghai Shenhua club who have emerged as the early favourites to sign him according to the English bookies.

Dagestan may be another possibility with Russian club Anzhi Makhachkala offering a free spending alternative. Drogba’s fellow African Samuel Eto’o is the club captian there with Guus Hiddink, a previous Chelsea coach, the manager.

Another previous Chelsea coach Paris St Germain’s Carlo Ancelotti may want to tempt Drogba with the lack of an new language to learn by luring him back to Paris.

However, according to the English bookmakers, Major League Soccer is an outsider to bring him in, with the LA Galaxy listed as 16-1 alongside new EPL Champions Manchester City.

Selected Odds on Drogba’s Next Club

Shanghai Shenhua 4-1
Anzhi Makhachkala 6-1
PSG 6-1
Manchester City 16-1
LA Galaxy 16-1
