I can’t wait to hear Prosty’s response if Riley gets picket up by the union. If he’s such a great player to get an award why didn’t we protect him? Well… we’ll find out very soon if Riley is gone.

We have always called Riley one of our unsung hereos. Consistantly solid without fanfare or theatrics. That is a sign of a great player. There is only one James Riley

riley’s a good guy, definitely does go out of his way for the fans and is an excellent player on the field. congrats to riley, we love you here in seattle!

Congratulations on making the best possible choice, PA! Riley has been outstanding all season long and to say he’s one of the top defenders in the league is no exaggeration. In the top five overall I’d say, and number one, in my book, at right back.

Ten years from now, I’d like to see Riley at right back, being lauded as one of the Sounders FC originals. I will be hella-mad if our FO let ever let him go.

Good call! Riley doesn’t get nearly enough recognition, locally or nationally. I agree that he deserves an MNT callup, but I suppose it should wait until after South Africa.

Excellent choice! James has been deserving of some recognition for a while now, and I’m glad he finally got it. I think some time ago I called him, the Sounder “most deserving to play with the Nats” (though I don’t expect Bradley to agree).
